FAQ
Questions we hear a lot.
Is LedgerBeaver an AI, or just an AI-friendly app?
Neither. LedgerBeaver is a finance platform with a Model Context Protocol server in front. You bring the AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini, or one you built yourself). We provide the tools, the data, and the audit log.
Can I use my own agent / private LLM?
Yes. Anything that speaks MCP — including self-hosted clients and your own custom agents — can connect. We never see your model traffic; only the tool calls and responses, which are scoped per-action.
What about data security?
Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We're SOC 2 Type I in progress and BAA-available for healthcare orgs on Team. Your agent's permissions are scoped per-tool; revoke anytime.
Do you replace QuickBooks / Xero?
You can use LedgerBeaver as a layer on top of QuickBooks / Xero (we sync both directions), or as a standalone GL. Most beta customers run us alongside their existing books for the first 60 days, then migrate.
Can I try it before joining a waitlist?
The product is in private beta. The Dam tour and web app demo are live with sample data — explore freely.
How does pricing work for AI token usage?
You're paying your AI provider directly (Anthropic, OpenAI, whoever). We don't mark up tokens. LedgerBeaver charges only for the platform.
